The Home Library

The Home Library www.thehomelibraryonline.com is our family’s online bookshop.  Here’s a little about how it started …

WE LOVE BOOKS!  … I hope that’s clear to see. 🙂 But not just ANY book. We love books which have been written by people with passion, and we love books with heart. After spending countless hours surfing the web, poring through catalogues and reading books about books AND after spending a lot of money building our own home library, we now own some fabulous books which are read and re-read, which are talked about over dinner and referred to in conversations. These are the books on this website. And we have those other books.

While navigating the course, we often wondered how marvelous it would be if there was someone who could help us avoid those buying mistakes, or save us all those hours of research. So in early September 2005, when the idea hit Angie to start a small book consultancy service to BE that someone for OTHER families, Tee Chiou, ever supportive, agreed instantly! A whirlwind month later, our first shipment of 270 books arrived from the USA and The Home Library was started.

In our first year, we hosted at our home and hand-delivered books to more than 150 customers! We were overwhelmed by the response, by the need and knew that we just HAD to continue. What started as a let’s-take-this-one-year-at-a-time enterprise, has far exceeded our expectations. Surely the Lord is great! 🙂
