This is it!  Salve, our wonderful helper of almost 4 years, is leaving for home early morning tomorrow!  She has been absolutely amazing in the run-up to her leaving and in preparation for our move, helping me pack box after box, clear cupboards, clean storerooms, move furniture, care for Daniel while I sort, help me give stuff away, etc, all the while urging me with “aiyah, give away lah ma’am”.  We are 5 weeks away from our move to our new place, and we’re almost all packed now except for kitchen things, clothes and books which we are currently using.  All thanks to her!

Today she was so responsibly trying to finish doing all the laundry – she even popped what she could into the dryer so she could iron as much up as possible before leaving!  What a gem right?  🙂  Don’t worry, we are not losing her forever.  We’re keeping her in the family!  Ha ha.  TC’s sister, who is going to have a baby in May, is going to employ her when she returns from a well-deserved 7-week holiday back home in the Philippines.

Thank you Salve for your years of dedicated service to our family.  Your care and concern for our children, your initiative, your positive attitude, your honesty and integrity, your hardwork, your love for cooking and for trying new things and all your very YUMMY FOOD, your “never-say-cannot” approach to all things, your excellent memory, your flawless execution and so many other things will really be missed in our home.  You have become such a part of our family that we will certainly miss you.  But we will see you when the family meets and once in a while will even drive all the way to Jurong West from Pasir Ris to visit you!

“The LORD bless you
       and keep you;

the LORD make his face shine upon you
       and be gracious to you;

the LORD turn his face toward you
       and give you peace.”

Numbers 6:24-26

May God bless you and keep you in excellent health!  Have a wonderful time with your family back home!  🙂

With love from Daniel, Nathalie, Timothy, Alethea, Angie and TC

  1. Such a nice send off! And what a sweet, sweet helper. And this is totally irrelevant – Daniel looks absolutely matured in this pix. No one would guess he’s not even 1! 🙂

  2. I had the beginnings of a tear in my eye from this post. 🙂 I didn’t even live with you BUT I definitely agree with all you’ve said about Salve and in my own way kinda miss her too! 🙂
